Fashion Editorial // STRANDED 🚘

As 2020 neared its end, and with my pregnancy at 7 months, I was starting to feel the fatigue creeping in. However, there was one last shoot I had in mind. Earlier in the year, my husband and I had purchased a new car, and it sparked an idea within me. I knew instantly that I wanted to incorporate my car into a photoshoot. Serendipitously, I stumbled upon a hidden spot just off the side of the road, not far from my home. Parking the car there, the location became the backdrop for this spontaneous fashion shoot. For this particular shoot, I curated four distinct looks centered around the allure of sequins. Despite the weariness, the excitement and creativity fueled me, leaving me with a memorable and satisfying experience to wrap up the year.

If you've explored the galleries on my website or visited my Instagram, then you're already familiar with the stunning face of Ms. Elsie Abang. Working with Elsie is an absolute delight. She is not only one of my favorite models, but she possesses an incredible personality and unwavering passion for her craft. Every time we collaborate, she brings an unparalleled energy and enthusiasm that never fails to impress.

Due to the demands of tending to and adjusting to a new baby, I had to delay editing these photos until the following summer. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Elsie for her patience and understanding during this time.

During post-production, I noticed some elements in the background that proved to be a bit distracting. As a remedy I made the artistic decision to edit all the images in black and white. Although I still appreciate the vibrant colors in some of the shots, the choice to go with monochrome turned out to be a perfect fit. In fact, these black and white images garnered recognition in a special Black and White edition of PUMP Magazine, and I was truly honored when the editorial was chosen as the editor's choice.
